If you click because you are wondering what the title meant well read on. The SMART acronym outlines a strategy for reaching any objective. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and anchored within a Time Frame.

SMART goals (standing for specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound) help you outline action plans to achieve your short-term or long-term goals. It has origins in the business world, but it can be applied to anything you aspire to bring to life.

When you are planning out a social media strategy, you need to effectively identify your client’s needs and what your clients’ goals are. You should map out a plan with specific and measurable goals that are easily attainable.

You need to make sure that each one of these goals is relevant to the clients’ needs, and that they are based on the time when they want to achieve them.

What Does SMART Stand For?

SMART is a strategic mnemonic for setting personal goals as well as professional ones, with each letter representing a different way of assessing achievements. Here is what SMART stands for.

  • Specific: Your goal should be clear and specific enough for you to devise a plan to achieve it.
