On March 27, 2022, the Oscars will be back in Hollywood at the Dolby Theatre, for the first time since February 9, 2020, when the pandemic disrupted our lives. Last year a more scaled-down version was held at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.
Do you remember what movie won the best picture in 2020 if you forgot it was Parasite? In 2021, Nomadland won Best Picture in a scaled-down award season, but this year plans are to bring the Oscars back home to the Dolby (aka) Kodak Theatre.
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences have announced that there are 276 Films are up for nomination this year. Voting begins by Academy members Nomination's voting begins on Thursday, January 27, 2022, and concludes on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Once the votes have been tabulated the nominations for the 94th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
To be eligible for consideration under rules provisions implemented for the 94th Academy Awards year only, feature films may open in a commercial motion picture theater in at least one of six U.S. metropolitan areas: Los Angeles County; the City of New York; the Bay Area; Chicago, Illinois; Miami, Florida; and Atlanta, Georgia, between March 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021, and complete a minimum qualifying run of seven consecutive days in the same venue.
