Influencers

What is the difference between influence marketing and advertising?

The definition of an influencer as defined in the Oxford Dictionary says a person or thing that influences another.

  1. “he was a champion of the arts and a huge influencer of taste”
  • MARKETING
  • a person with the ability to influence potential buyers of a product or service by promoting or recommending the items on social media.
  • “influencers can add serious credibility to your brand”

When we see a commercial or one on the radio, what in effect is the product is trying to influence someone to buy, do or participate in something. Hence, an advertiser is a person or company that pays for the ad in order to get us to buy their product. These forms of advertising range from advertising in a newspaper, on television, or on a poster.

Ads vs influencer marketing, social media users come in contact with your ads in their feed as sponsored posts or as text or photo module ads. Influencer marketing involves content influencers create for your brand and place it on their social media accounts, blogs, their podcasts.
