The 98th season of the Hollywood Bowl cancels their 2020 summer season for the first time since 1922 due to the Covid-19 global pandemic.

The iconic venue located in the Hollywood Hills, has been around since the early 1900’s and the first concert was performed on the grounds in 1920. A piano concert by Gertrude Ross and Anna Ruzena Sprotte in 1920 was the first event ever held at the Hollywood Bowl. The duo used an old barn door as the stage.

In the hundred years since the music began at the Hollywood Bowl, it has showcased artistic and cultural greatness.

Over the years, the museum has put together a rich and vibrant history and a window into the voices that have influenced the history and continues to shape and enhance our world. The Hollywood Bowl opened its Museum in 1984 in what was originally the Tea Room. In 1996, completely rebuilt and named the Edmund D. Edelman Hollywood Bowl Museum and it provides a historical timeline of this iconic venue. You may browse and explore the many decades below by visiting our museum at: visit our museum!
