Lately, in my job search quest I have noticed more and more fake job listings popping up on a lot of various job sites. What I have found is that a lot of recruiters, are posting jobs that do not exist in order to get a client to apply and get their information. I have noticed that I get a lot of spam after applying what I thought was a great job lead.

ter I started going to the companies actual website, and viewing the job listing 99% of the time there is no job listing, despite the fact that the lead says it is one day or one hour ago. Some of these sites even provide actual names of a company, with bogus information such as working hours, rate of pay, and then when you either research it or call the company they say they don’t have a call center.

Indeed, Monster, Careerbuilder, Linkden Logos

The easiest ways to aid your job search when dealing with sites is to verify with the company that the jobs are available. However, there are a lot of companies who place blind ads, which makes the search more difficult and easier for recruitment scams to occur. Gone all the days of the newspaper classified ads, when there was a problem you could contact the classified department, to fix an ad in error. However, in the age off the digital world things are not as easy as they seem.

Buyer beware, or in this case we should say Job Seekers beware.
