Today we will discuss what are the first things that we need to do before getting started when writing. I think that every true writer should always have yellow legal writing paper, pencils, pens, a typewriter, and of course a computer.
What a lot of young writers seem to either forget or not know about is a few of these simple tools. In order to write, you must be able to write down your thoughts, and not just write them down on a cell phone, or computer.
As a writer, you should always be prepared to write, because you never know what circumstances may arise. What happens if you are working on a story on a deadline and the electricity goes out, well hence the person for a manual typewriter, pens, and paper. A true writer will always be prepared no matter what.
The dictionary, thesaurus, and AP Stylebook, are important tools that a writer should use faithfully for proper style, spelling, and alternative words. In today’s writing market many people have forgotten about these few simple tools to being a successful writer. Instead, today’s writer opts for the easy, by using a cell phone or tablet, writes then publishes the article.
